Wilderness

Moose in Alaska

A moose I saw while visiting Alaska

Though I don’t visit the dwindling amount of wilderness we have left as much as I’d like to, I grew up exploring the rugged, desolate terrain of the Great Basin, and those experiences have permanently etched a certain love for the wild into my heart.

Since then I have hiked California’s Yosemite and Sequoia National Parks quite a few times, and less-so the wilderness areas of Michigan. Almost every day, however, I take some sort of action to protect the wild from complete destruction, so that it might be preserved for future generations to enjoy. I believe something indescribably vital will be lost if humans continue to treat the wild as we have in the past.
